The ghost town of L’Aquila transformed into a TAZ.
San BOARDnardino called all the believers to a public function. People with snowboards and ski, instead of being blocked at home after the impressive snow of February 3rd, are invited to occupy the stairs up-fronting the church os San Bernardino, on the very center of the city of L’Aquila.
Since February the 4th, a huge TAZ is going on.
Youngsters from all over the city and the surrounding areas came to build up a space of sociality and make the city center alive again. A big snowy ski-path in the old area of L’Aquila has been settled, just few meters from the Red Zone, the area interdicted to civilians after the earthquake of April 2009.
After the snow of February 3rd, the administration of the city forbids the access to the old streets and squares (the few which remained open since April 2009) for security reasons: avoid accidents due to the collapses of the abandoned buildings.
San BOARDnardino re-appropriates the urban abandoned spaces and almost 3 years after the eartquake, made the city of L’Aquila a lively and vibrant urban environment once again.
